Walnuts are in lieu of olives. Still, I wouldn't rank olives that high. Black beans could be replaced by other legumes, such as pinto beans or kidney beans, albeit, they taste like shit.

Spinach is great! Yogurt helps with digestion as well as a source of protein and calcium. I wouldn't rank tomatoes up there, I prefer grapefruit. Sweet potatoes and broccoli in lieu of carrots (lower GI). Blueberries are top notch as are walnuts, almonds and oats.

So true. I miss eating Walnuts and Blueberries. I think If I just work those 2 back into what I eat would be a good start. Probably spinach too. I have no problem scarving a small can of that stuff down.

You make some great suggestions.

An absolute ideal breakfast for me is the following:

1/2 cup oatmeal
handful of blueberries
1 tbsp of cinnamon
1 tbsp peanut butter

In addition to that, I'll have 2 scoops WPI protein in my shaker bottle.

Honestly, it's hard to get anything better in the morning for yourself. You may add some DAG/Enova oil and add some flax and fish oil too to add some beneficial N3 fatty acids.

Was scratching my head at first. Was figuring you were just using cinnamon as a low sugar substitute for flavor.

But then I found:

Improved digestion - Cinnamon and other related spices have long been used as a digestive aid, and those who suffer from stomach cramps, IBS, and other common stomach disorders often find that adding cinnamon to their favorite dish aids digestion.

Toning of tissues - Considerable anecdotal evidence exists to suggest that cinnamon may have the ability to tone and constrict tissues in the body.

Relief from congestion - Cinnamon and other spices have long been consumed to relieve congestion that comes from colds, allergies, and other common conditions.

Muscle and joint pain relief- Those who eat cinnamon on a regular basis often report that their muscle and joint pain, as well as stiffness, is reduced or even eliminated.

Relief from menstrual cramping and other feminine discomfort - Cinnamon has long been used to treat the discomfort that accompanies menstruation, and many women report that a daily amount of cinnamon greatly reduces cramping, pain, and other common menstrual complaints.

Thinning of the blood and better circulation - Like garlic, cinnamon is a blood thinning agent. Though not as powerful as garlic, cinnamon also acts to increase circulation.

Relief from arthritis pain - Recent studies have suggested that cinnamon may contain anti-inflammatory compounds which may be useful in reducing the pain and inflammation associated with arthritis.

Prevention of urinary tract infections - Many who eat cinnamon on a regular basis report a lower incidence of urinary tract infections.

Prevention of tooth decay and gum disease - There is much anecdotal evidence that cinnamon may be helpful in the prevention of tooth decay and gum disease.

Killing harmful bacteria - Cinnamon has been shown to be a powerful antimicrobial agent, one that has the ability to kill germs as E. coli and other harmful bacteria

RobFunk, I tend to eat a healthy lifestyle. I'm a geek when it comes to knowing certain ingredients and how they[re] healthy for our lifestyle.

Call me a health-nut, but damn it, try the meal above ;)

Guys, try natural PB instead, less or no trans fats depending on what kind you get.

I often eat oats in the morning with a little cinnamon/pb mix. Also, make sure you are eating straight oats and not the instant kind.

I give sawastea BIG TIME credit. I sprinkle a little cinnamon on my ice coffees now, and there is no doubt in the world this has helped me out. Particularly with metabolism/digestion.

I had an entire large cheese pizza Sunday and stepped on the scale Monday, it's like I didnt even eat it.

All right, this morning this is what I mixed together and ate:

1. 1 cup of organic low-fat yogurt, with 4 or 5 different "live and active" cultures
2. 1/2 cup of dry "old-fashioned" oats
3. 1 tablespoon of cinnamon
4. 1/4 cup of walnuts
5. 1/4 cup of dried blueberries

It was quite a lot of food, and tasted very good. Am I doing this right? Or should I be adding in honey or peanut butter or flaxseed oil?

By the way, the cinnamon cleared out my sinuses very quickly, and I felt a boost right away. I gave this to my woman to eat this morning, also, and she said it was good, but with too much cinnamon.
